Parts for blaster rifles are still included for mounting behind the pilot. Battle droid minifigs from this series have horizontally mounted hands to latch on to the rack handles because of this, they cannot properly hold a weapon. Like the MTT, its designed to slide out of the back of the vehicle. The Battle Droid carrier shares several pieces with the MTT, including a rack for storing folded droids.

This set has 133 pieces, and is recommended for ages 7-12. In the movie, the PAC carries 112 battle droids and two pilots, while the version, made as a cheaper alternative to the previous year's 7184 Trade Federation MTT (Multi-Troop Transport), holds only six droids and one pilot. It is the second of four droid transports Lego has released, and the only one with an open design, based on the Platoon Attack Craft (PAC), which can be seen in Star Wars Episode I, Episode III, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The Battle Droid Carrier was released by Lego in 2001 as part of its Star Wars line, tying into the release of 'Episode 1: The Phantom Menace' two years earlier.
